Section 990. Definitions

12 AAC 48.990. Definitions

In this chapter,

(1) "ophthalmic prosthetic products" means a device used for or incident to correction of a visual anomaly including eye glasses, lenses, contact lenses, frames, or any component of them;

(2) "board" means the Alaska Board of Examiners in Optometry;

(3) "contact hour" means a minimum of 50 minutes of instruction;

(4) "department" means the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development;

(5) "division of occupational licensing" means the division of occupational licensing in the department.

As of Register 171 (October 2004), the regulations attorney made technical revisions under AS 44.62.125 (b)(6) to reflect the name change of the Department of Community and Economic Development to the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development made by ch. 47, SLA 2004 and the corresponding title change of the commissioner of community and economic development.
