20 AAC 05.685. Permits issued to an applicant for both purse seine and gillnet fisheries

(a) The commission will issue a single, inseparable permit to an applicant who qualifies for both the purse seine and gillnet fisheries. This permit will grant the permit holder the privilege of harvesting the Kodiak herring resource with seine and gillnet gear in accordance with regulations of the Alaska Board of Fisheries.

(b) If an applicant who receives a permit authorizing the use of both seine and gillnet gear qualifies for either gear type under the minor economic hardship provision of AS 16.43.250 (c), then the permanent transfer of the permit under the provisions of AS 16.43.170 (b) will result in the conversion of the permit to the single gear type not issued as a minor economic hardship permit.
