Section 15. Approval of expenditures

13 AAC 20.015. Approval of expenditures

(a) The expenditure of an amount up to one percent of the maximum amount of the search and rescue fund provided for under AS 18.60.145 will be authorized by the commissioner or his designee if

(1) the requirements of 13 AAC 20.010 are met;

(2) the expenditure is supported by billings from the individual claimants which itemize the expenditure claimed;

(3) the billings are accompanied by a completed"application for payment" form (12-107);

(4) the expenditure is reasonable; and

(5) all unexpended materials are turned over to the department as required by 13 AAC 20.025.

(b) If the commissioner approves, he will state the additional amount that may be spent in excess of that allowed in (a) of this section, by completing part C of the"application for payment" form.

(c) Requests for payment of expenditure which are received by the commissioner 30 days after the authorized search or rescue operation terminated will not be approved unless the commissioner is satisfied that extenuating circumstances justified the delay.
