11 AAC 84.710. Call for applications

(a) In the absence of substantial geologic indications of geothermal resources, a disposal of geothermal resources will be preceded by a call for applications. The commissioner will, in his discretion, commence a call for applications on his own initiative or in response to requests from persons interested in disposals of geothermal resources.

(b) To commence a call for applications, the commissioner will designate a proposed geothermal disposal area, comprised of identified tracts which are compact, contiguous, and consistent with the acreage limitations of AS 38.05.181 . The commissioner will invite applications for the tracts during a specified period.
