Section 190. Definitions

8 AAC 99.190. Definitions

As used in this chapter, unless the context requires otherwise

(1) "applicant" means a person who has applied to an official testing center to take any portion of the GED tests;

(2) "chief examiner" means the person designated as the administrator of each official testing center;

(3) "department" means the Department of Labor and Workforce Development;

(4) "official testing center" means an agency which has received department approval for offering the GED testing program and which has a current contract with the General Educational Development Testing Service; the names and addresses of official testing centers may be obtained by writing to the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, P.O. Box 21149, Juneau, Alaska 99802-1149;

(5) "program office" means the department acting in its capacity as the monitoring and approval agency for official testing centers.
