Section 900. Definitions

7 AAC 49.900. Definitions

In this chapter, unless the context requires otherwise,

(1) "adult public assistance" means the program administered under AS 47.25.430 - 47.25.615 and 7 AAC 40;

(2) "Alaska Temporary Assistance Program" means the program administered under AS 47.27 and 7 AAC 45;

(3) "applicant" means a person who completes an application for public assistance or medical assistance under one of the programs listed in 7 AAC 49.010;

(4) "Chronic and Acute Medical Assistance" means the program administered under AS 47.08.150 and 7 AAC 48.500 - 7 AAC 48.900;

(5) "client" means an applicant for, a recipient of, or a person who requests an application for public assistance or medical assistance under one of the programs listed 7 AAC 49.010;

(6) "commissioner" means the commissioner of the Department of Health and Social Services;

(7) "department" means the Department of Health and Social Services;

(8) "director" means the director of the division;

(9) "division" means the division of public assistance, the division of health care services, the division of behavioral health, the division of senior and disability services, or the office of children's services of the Department of Health and Social Services;

(10) "energy assistance" means the program administered under AS 47.05.010 and 7 AAC 44;

(11) "food stamp program" means the program administered under AS 47.25.975 - 47.25.990 and 7 AAC 46;

(12) "General Relief Assistance" means the program administered under AS 47.25.120 - 47.25.300 and 7 AAC 47;

(13) "General Relief Medical" means the program administered under AS 47.25.120 - 47.25.300 and 7 AAC 47.200 - 7 AAC 47.290;

(14) "hearing authority" means the individual appointed under 7 AAC 49.150;

(15) "Medicaid" means the program administered under AS 47.07 and 7 AAC 43;

(16) "subsidized adoption" means the program administered under AS 25.23.190 - 25.23.240 and 7 AAC 53.
