7 AAC 45.555. Adding and removing a member of an assistance unit

(a) The department will add an adult or child to an existing assistance unit only upon a request of the caretaker relative. As soon as the caretaker relative demonstrates that the individual to be added meets all of the eligibility requirements of this chapter, the department will determine eligibility for the month in which all factors of eligibility were met for at least one day in that month. The department will prorate the first month's payment increase for the new individual's needs.

(b) If an individual included in an ATAP assistance unit leaves the household, the department will delete that individual from the assistance unit, beginning with the first full month the individual is gone.

(c) If a stepparent with an eligible child is added to an assistance unit and the stepparent's income has been available to the assistance unit under 7 AAC 45.465, the department will allow the applicable deductions from earned income under 7 AAC 45.475 - 7 AAC 45.500.
