7 AAC 43.280. Definitions

In 7 AAC 43.170 - 7 AAC 43.275,

(1) "facility" or "long-term care facility" means an establishment which is certified as either a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or an intermediate care facility (ICF), or both;

(2) "licensed nursing personnel" means those persons who are registered nurses or licensed practical nurses;

(3) "residential care" means a residential living arrangement which provides a structured setting with supervision and care where the needs of the residents are largely social; a facility providing residential care is one which offers shelter, food, household maintenance, encouragement and assistance to the residents, guidance as necessary in activities of daily living, social and recreational activities and opportunities, and arrangements made to secure medical services when the need is indicated;

(4) "utilization review committee" means the facility-based medical review team composed of private physicians and other professional persons as required by 42 C.F.R. Part 442.
