7 AAC 40.900. Definitions

In this chapter,

(1) "applicant" means a person who applies for or who receives assistance under this chapter;

(2) "central office" means the central administrative office of the division of public assistance;

(3) "department" means the Department of Health and Social Services;

(4) "division" means the division of public assistance of the Department of Health and Social Services;

(5) "motor vehicle" means a self-propelled vehicle for surface transportation;

(6) "regional office" means an office responsible for the supervision of district offices within a particular geographic region of the state;

(7) "SSI" means Supplemental Security Income provided by the Social Security Administration of the federal Department of Health and Human Services;

(8) "long-term care facility" means an establishment which is licensed and certified by the division of medical assistance as either a skilled nursing facility or an intermediate care facility, or both;

(9) "Social Security Disability Insurance benefits" means disability insurance payments provided by the Social Security Administration of the federal Department of Health and Human Services under 42 U.S.C. 401 - 433;

(10) "assisted living home" has the meaning given in AS 47.33.990 .
