5 AAC 85.030. Hunting seasons and bag limits for deer

(a) In this section, the phrase "General hunt only" means that there is a general hunt for residents, but no subsistence hunt, during the relevant open season. For those units or portions of units within non-subsistence areas established by the Joint Boards of Fisheries and Game (5 AAC 99.015) , there is a general hunt only. Hunting seasons and bag limits for deer are as follows:

    

    

Resident Open Season (Subsistence and Nonresident Units and Bag Limits General Hunts) Open Season (1) Units 1(A) and 2 Aug. 1 - Dec. 31 Aug. 1 - Dec. 31 4 bucks Unit 1(C), that portion Aug. 1 - Dec. 31 Aug. 1 - Dec. 31 including Douglas, Lincoln, Shelter, and Sullivan Islands 4 deer; however, only bucks may be taken before Sept. 15 Unit 1(B) and the remainder of Unit 1(C) Aug. 1 - Dec. 31 Aug. 1 - Dec. 31 2 bucks Unit 1(D) No open season. No open season. (5) Unit 6 RESIDENT HUNTERS: 5 deer; however, only Aug. 1 - Dec. 31 bucks may be (General hunt only) taken before Oct. 1 NONRESIDENT HUNTERS: 4 deer; however, only Aug. 1 - Dec. 31 bucks may be taken before Oct. 1 (6) Unit 8, that portion of Kodiak Island north of a line from the head of Settlers Cove to Crescent Lake (57ΓΈ 52' N. lat., 152ΓΈ 58' W. long.), and east of a line from the outlet of Crescent Lake to Mount Ellison Peak and from Mount Ellison Peak to Pokati Point at Whale Passage, and that portion of Kodiak Island east of a line from the mouth of Saltery Creek to the mouth of Elbow Creek, and adjacent small islands in Chiniak Bay 1 buck; or Aug. 1 - Oct. 31 Aug. 1 - Oct. 31 1 deer, by bow and Nov. 1 - Nov. 14 Nov. 1 - Nov. 14 arrow or muzzleloader only Remainder of Unit 8 Aug. 1 - Dec. 31 Aug. 1 - Dec. 31 3 deer; however, only bucks may be taken before Oct. 1
