Section 24. Harvest record required; annual limits

5 AAC 70.024. Harvest record required; annual limits

(a) The following provisions regarding harvest records and annual limits apply to sport fishing for shellfish in the waters of the Northwestern Management Area:

(1) a nontransferable harvest record is required and must in the possession of a person sport fishing for king crab;

(2) there is no annual limit for sport-caught king crab in the Northwestern Management Area.

(b) The following provisions regarding harvest records and annual limits apply to taking and retaining king salmon 20 inches or greater in length in the waters of the Aniak River drainage and the Unalakleet River drainage:

(1) a nontransferable harvest record is required and must be in the possession of a person taking king salmon while sport fishing; for a licensed sport angler, a harvest record appears on the back of the angler's sport fishing license; for a sport angler not required to possess a sport fishing license, a harvest record may be obtained, without charge, from local department area offices and license vendors;

(2) immediately upon harvesting a king salmon 20 inches or greater in length, the angler shall enter the date and location (body of water fished), in ink, on the harvest record;

(3) the annual limit for king salmon 20 inches or greater in length in the:

(A) Aniak River drainage is two fish per angler;

(B) in the Unalakleet River drainage is four fish per angler, of which only two fish may be taken from the North River;

(4) nothing in this section affects or modifies a bag or possession limit specified in this chapter.

(c) The following provisions regarding harvest records and annual limits apply to taking and retaining rainbow trout 20 inches or greater in length in the waters of the Kisaralik River drainage downstream of 60ΓΈ 49.5' N. lat., 160ΓΈ 55.0' W. long. (Akiak Village Lodge site), the Kwethluk River drainage, the Kasigluk River drainage, and the Arolik River drainage:

(1) a nontransferable harvest record is required and must be in the possession of a person taking rainbow trout while sport fishing; for a licensed sport angler, a harvest record appears on the back of the angler's sport fishing license; for a sport angler not required to possess a sport fishing license, a harvest record may be obtained, without charge, from local department area offices and license vendors;

(2) immediately upon harvesting a rainbow trout 20 inches or greater in length, the angler shall enter the date and location (body of water fished), in ink, on the harvest record;

(3) the annual limit for rainbow trout 20 inches or greater in length is two fish per angler;

(4) nothing in this section affects or modifies a bag or possession limit specified in this chapter.
