AS 46.04.110. Municipal Powers Limited.
If a conflict occurs between a provision of this chapter, or a regulation, order, decision, or other determination of
the department under this chapter, and a charter, ordinance, permit, regulation, franchise, decision, or other
determination of a municipality, the provisions of this chapter or the regulation, order, decision, or other
determination of the department prevail. However, nothing in this chapter precludes a municipality, by ordinance or
regulation, from exercising its police powers in the area regulated by this chapter.
