22 AAC 05.340. Academic education

The department will provide an educational program to the extent permitted by available resources. The program will include remedial education programs that will afford the prisoner an opportunity to attain an educational level equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade in the public school system, as measured by the general equivalency diploma test. Post-secondary education opportunities consisting of courses or correspondence study will also be made available to prisoners.
