Section 560. Operating and emergency procedures

18 AAC 85.560. Operating and emergency procedures

Registrants of X-ray machines used in industrial radiography shall provide operating and emergency procedures which shall include instructions in at least the following:

(1) the handling and use of the X-ray machines to be employed such that no person is likely to be exposed to doses in excess of the limits established in secs. 120 - 180 of this chapter;

(2) methods for controlling access to radiographic areas;

(3) methods and occasions for conducting ionizing radiation surveys;

(4) methods and occasions for locking and securing the X-ray machines;

(5) personnel monitoring and the use of personnel monitoring equipment;

(6) transportation to field locations;

(7) the procedure for notifying proper persons in the event of an accident; and

(8) maintenance of records.
