Section 860. Infants and toddlers

18 AAC 30.860. Infants and toddlers

(a) Sufficient quantities of clean diapers must be available and properly stored in the diaper-changing area.

(b) Soiled diapers must be rinsed, if necessary, and placed in a plastic bag or easily cleanable, covered container which must be emptied, cleaned, and sanitized daily.

(c) A sink or other means acceptable to the department must be available in the diaper-changing area for hand washing and cleaning purposes.

(d) Training chairs and infant toilet seats must be provided for children who require them. They must be emptied and sanitized after each use.

(e) A utility sink or other method approved by the department must be provided and used for cleaning infant toilet seats.

(f) Facilities for bathing and cleaning infants and toddlers must be available.

(g) At least two feet of space must be provided between individual cribs. A suitable area exclusive of crib space must be provided for crawling.

(h) Cleaning which may present a hazard to infants may be done only when a room is not occupied by infants.
