Title 17 . Transportation and Public Facilities
Chapter 70 . Miscellaneous Provisions
Section 170. Disabled persons or vehicles

17 AAC 70.170. Disabled persons or vehicles

When it becomes necessary to provide assistance to load or unload a disabled person, vehicle, or other traffic to effect proper loading or unloading of any vessel, the ferry system will assist in obtaining recognized experienced assistance, and any expenses incurred in obtaining such assistance will be borne by the person or persons responsible for the disabled person, vehicle or other traffic. In the absence of experienced assistance, the ferry system may undertake to assist in loading or unloading of a disabled person, vehicle, or other traffic, by its employees, with or without mechanical devices. Should such assistance be given, the ferry system will not be liable for loss, injury, or damage to the person, vehicle or other traffic. When a disabled person, or person in charge of a disabled vehicle, requests assistance from other passengers, or the vessel's crew, to load or unload such person or vehicle with dispatch, any such assistance rendered will be the sole responsibility of the person making said request.
