13 AAC 68.340. Release of information to identify, locate, or apprehend a fugitive or wanted person, recover stolen property, or for public reporting of recent events

(a) The repository, or an agency authorized direct access to records maintained by the repository under 13 AAC 68.215, may release criminal justice information maintained by the repository if the release meets the requirements of AS 12.62.160 (b)(3).

(b) Information released under (a) of this section for the purpose of public reporting of recent criminal justice activity may include criminal history record information maintained by the repository concerning a person who, within the preceding month, has been the subject of criminal justice activity reported to the repository under

(A) 13 AAC 68.105;

(B) 13 AAC 68.115;

(C) 13 AAC 68.120; or

(D) 13 AAC 68.130 - 13 AAC 68.145.

(c) The repository may refer a request for information described in (b) of this section to the agency with the most direct knowledge of the recent criminal justice activity.

(d) Information that is sealed under AS 12.62.180 may be released under this section only when necessary to prevent imminent harm to a person. Release of information under this section is not subject to the requirements of AS 12.62.160 (c)(3).
