Section 900. Prescription labeling

12 AAC 68.900. Prescription labeling

(a) All legend drugs prescribed and dispensed by a veterinarian for patient treatment must be labeled at the time of dispensing.

(b) The prescription label, or unit dosage package, must contain

(1) name of the owner of the patient;

(2) name of the prescribing veterinarian;

(3) name of the drug;

(4) strength and quantity of the drug;

(5) date dispensed;

(6) name and address of the veterinary facility dispensing the drug; and

(7) directions for the owner administering the drug to the patient.
