Chapter 56 . Big Game Guides and Transporters
Section 19. Qualifications for less than 80,000 gross tons endorsement

12 AAC 56.019. Qualifications for less than 80,000 gross tons endorsement

(a) To qualify for an endorsement to pilot vessels of less than 80,000 gross tons, a deputy marine pilot must have held an endorsement as a deputy marine pilot on vessels of less than 60,000 gross tons for a period of at least one year, and while holding a deputy marine pilot license of less than 60,000 gross tons have performed at least 60 days of vessel movements onboard vessels requiring a state licensed marine pilot.

(b) For a deputy marine pilot license that is converted from a 40,000 gross tons endorsement to a less than 60,000 gross tons endorsement under 12 AAC 56.011(b) , the one year time period required under this section for a less than 80,000 gross tons endorsement will be computed from the date that the 40,000 gross ton endorsement was issued. Vessel movements required in this section that are accrued while holding a 40,000 gross tons endorsement will count toward the upgrade to a less than 80,000 gross tons endorsement.
