Section 987. Use of horses, mules, and burros

11 AAC 20.987. Use of horses, mules, and burros

(a) The use of horses, mules, and burros is allowed in the following state recreation areas:

(1) Blair Lake State Recreation Area; and

(2) Tokositna State Recreation Area.

(b) The use of horses, mules and burros in a state recreation area described in (a) of this section is subject to the following conditions:

(1) a group using 10 or more animals shall obtain a park use permit under 11 AAC 18.010 before entering the recreation area;

(2) tethering horses, mules, and burros within 100 feet of fresh water is prohibited; and

(3) loose herding of animals is prohibited.
