Section 531. Utility regions

7 AAC 45.531. Utility regions

(a) The regional standard utility allowances applicable to an assistance unit under 7 AAC 45.529 or 7 AAC 45.530 shall be determined according to the physical location of the assistance unit's home within the utility regions identified in this section.

(b) Each utility region includes the area within the following United States census areas, as identified in the United States Department of Commerce Bureau of the Census publication, Census of Population and Housing, 1990, Summary Population and Housing Characteristics: Alaska, 1991, adopted by reference in this section:

(1) Central Utility Region census areas:

(A) Anchorage Borough;

(B) Matanuska-Susitna Borough;

(2) Northern Utility Region census areas:

(A) Fairbanks North Star Borough;

(B) North Slope Borough;

(C) Southeast Fairbanks;

(D) Yukon-Koyukuk;

(3) Northwest Utility Region census areas:

(A) Nome;

(B) Northwest Arctic Borough;

(4) Southcentral Utility Region census areas:

(A) Aleutians East Borough;

(B) Aleutians West;

(C) Bristol Bay Borough;

(D) Dillingham;

(E) Kenai Peninsula Borough;

(F) Kodiak Island Borough;

(G) Lake and Peninsula Borough;

(H) Valdez-Cordova;

(5) Southeast Utility Region census areas:

(A) Haines Borough;

(B) Juneau Borough;

(C) Ketchikan Gateway Borough;

(D) Prince of Wales-Outer Ketchikan;

(E) Sitka Borough;

(F) Skagway-Yakutat-Angoon;

(G) Wrangell-Petersburg;

(6) Southwest Utility Region census areas:

(A) Bethel;

(B) Wade Hampton.
