7 AAC 45.180. Incomplete verification

(a) Except as provided in 7 AAC 45.255, if an applicant, who is otherwise eligible to receive ATAP benefits, has not provided all of the documentary evidence needed to verify an eligibility factor, the department will pay benefits, but only for the month in which the application was received and the following month, if

(1) the necessary documents are not in the applicant's possession and the applicant cannot readily obtain them;

(2) the applicant has requested the custodian of the documents to provide the documents and the department determines that the applicant cannot reasonably be expected to receive the documents within 30 days;

(3) the department has made at least one other contact that supports the applicant's claim that the eligibility factor is met; and

(4) the department has no evidence that the eligibility factor in question is not met.

(b) The department may provide additional time for an applicant to submit documentation if the department determines that the applicant is attempting to provide the documentation, but is unable to do so for reasons beyond the applicant's control.
