Section 85. Methadone dosage levels

7 AAC 33.085. Methadone dosage levels

(a) Each program providing maintenance treatment shall set forth in its protocol the typical dosage range it will use. Variations in this range and the reason for such variations shall be noted in writing by the physician in the patient's record.

(b) The initial dosage of methadone shall be directly supervised by the physician, or his designee, and observed for as long a time as the physician deems appropriate. The physician is responsible for all medication administered by him or at his direction.

(c) The medical director shall review each patient's dosage range and consider changes of dosage as indicated on an individual basis.
