A regional educational attendance area school board seat vacancy will be filled at the next regular election, if notice of the resignation of a school board member, or notice that a school board seat has been vacated due to other circumstances is received by the director not later than July 15. If notice of a vacancy is received by the director after July 15, the office will be filled by appointment by the remaining board members until the regular election in the succeeding calendar year, at which election the seat will be filled for the balance of the unexpired term.
