Procedures for the distribution, circulation, and certification of referendum petitions are the same as those prescribed in 6 AAC 25.240 for initiative petitions, except that (d) of that section, relating to the deadline for filing the petition, does not apply. Instead, the sponsors must file a referendum petition within 90 days after the adjournment of the legislative session during which the Act was passed, as provided in AS 15.45.370 . If the 90th day falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline is the close of business on the next regular business day.
