Section 16. Shellfish harvest recording form provisions

5 AAC 75.016. Shellfish harvest recording form provisions

If a sport-fishing shellfish harvest recording form is required by regulation, the following conditions apply unless specified otherwise in 5 AAC 75:

(1) the numbers of shellfish taken may not exceed the limits set by regulation, and set out in the harvest recording form;

(2) the harvest recording form must be obtained from a local representative of the department before taking shellfish;

(3) the harvest recording form must be retained in the possession of the fisherman and be readily available for inspection while taking or transporting the species for which the harvest recording form is issued;

(4) the harvest recording form may designate the species, and numbers as set by applicable regulations, of shellfish to be harvested, time and area for taking, the type and amount of fishing gear as allowed by applicable regulations, and other conditions necessary for management or conservation purposes;

(5) if required on the harvest recording form, the fisherman shall keep accurate daily records of the catch involved, showing the number of shellfish taken by species, location, and date of the catch, and any other information required by the department for management or conservation purposes;

(6) sport fishing harvest records shall be completed on the harvest recording form provided by the department, at the time specified by the department for each particular area and fishery, and shall be submitted to the department office from which the harvest record was issued; and

(7) if set by applicable regulations, the fisherman's total annual possession limit for the shellfish species will be specified on the harvest recording form by the department representative issuing the form.
