5 AAC 70.030. Methods, means, and general provisions - Finfish

(a) Unless otherwise provided in 5 AAC 70.008, 5 AAC 70.011, 5 AAC 70.013, 5 AAC 70.015, and 5 AAC 70.17 or by an emergency order issued under AS 16.05.060 , the provisions in this section apply to finfish sport fishing in the Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim Region.

(b) In all lakes, multiple hooks with a gap between the point and shank greater than one-half inch may be used for taking fish other than salmon.

(c) A spear or bow and arrow may be used to take suckers and burbot from January 1 through December 31. Unless prohibited in 5 AAC 70.022, northern pike and whitefish, except sheefish, may be taken by spear or bow and arrow from September 1 through April 30, and, from January 1 through December 31, may be speared by a person who is completely submerged.

(d) Repealed 5/19/2004.
