Section 24. Harvest record required; annual limit

5 AAC 47.024. Harvest record required; annual limit

(a) The following provisions regarding harvest records and annual limits apply to nonresident anglers sport fishing for king salmon in the waters described:

(1) a nontransferable harvest record is required, and must be in the possession of each nonresident angler sport fishing for king salmon in the waters described in 5 AAC 47.005;

(2) for a licensed nonresident angler, a harvest record appears on the back of the nonresident angler's sport fishing license; for a nonresident angler not required to have a sport fishing license, a harvest record may be obtained without charge from department offices and fishing license vendors throughout Southeast Alaska;

(3) immediately after landing a king salmon 28 inches or greater in length from the waters referred to in (1) of this subsection, the nonresident angler shall enter the date and location of the catch, in ink, on the harvest record;

(4) unless otherwise specified by emergency order under 5 AAC 47.055, the nonresident annual limit in the waters referred to in (1) of this subsection is three king salmon 28 inches or greater in length per person.

(b) Repealed 5/25/2000.

(c) The following provisions regarding harvest records and annual limits apply to sport fishing for steelhead in the waters described:

(1) a nontransferable harvest record is required, and must be in the possession of each person sport fishing for steelhead in the Southeast Alaska Area;

(2) for a licensed angler, a harvest record appears on the back of the angler's sport fishing license; for an angler not required to have a sport fishing license, a harvest record may be obtained without charge from department offices and fishing license vendors in the Southeast Alaska Area;

(3) immediately upon landing a steelhead 36 inches or greater in length from the waters referred to in (1) of this subsection, the angler shall enter the date and location of the catch, in ink, on the harvest record;

(4) except as otherwise provided in 5 AAC 47.023, the annual limit from January 1 through December 31 in all waters described in (1) of this subsection is two steelhead 36 inches or greater in length.
