5 AAC 28.532. Groundfish pot storage requirements for Chignik Area

(a) Rectangular groundfish pots with all bait and bait containers removed and with all doors secured fully open, and cone or pyramid groundfish pots with all bait and bait containers removed and all doors not secured closed may be stored in water not more than 25 fathoms deep.

(b) Following the closure of a parallel or state waters season for Pacific cod, all groundfish pot gear used by a vessel registered to fish Pacific cod must be removed from the water, except that

(1) rectangular groundfish pots may be stored as described in (a) of this section; or

(2) rectangular groundfish pots with all bait and bait containers removed and with all doors secured fully open, and cone or pyramid groundfish pots with all bait and bait containers removed and all doors not secured closed may be stored in waters more than 25 fathoms deep for seven days following the closure.
