5 AAC 06.570. Bristol Bay Capelin Management Plan

(a) Capelin (Mallotus villosus) may be taken only in the Togiak District described in 5 AAC 06.200(e) , and only under the conditions of a permit issued by the commissioner or the commissioner's designee.

(b) The permit required in (a) of this section shall include reporting requirements and any other conditions determined necessary by the commissioner for conservation and management purposes.

(c) Capelin may be taken only from April 15 through May 30.

(d) Capelin may be taken only with purse seines.

(e) No more than 200 tons of capelin may be taken annually.
