Section 730. Standardized norm referenced test administration

4 AAC 06.730. Standardized norm referenced test administration

(a) The commissioner will select a standardized norm referenced test to be used in the state. The commissioner will select a test that, to the extent practicable, measures achievement of the performance standards adopted in 4 AAC 04.150. The test may be used for up to six consecutive years. If, after review, the commissioner determines that continued use of the test is in the best interests of the state, the commissioner may select the test again.

(b) The department will set the dates on which districts shall administer the test selected under (a) of this section. The department will notify the districts of those dates on or before July 1 of each year.

(c) A district shall annually administer the test selected under (a) of this section to students enrolled in grades five and seven.

(d) A district shall ensure that students and unauthorized persons do not have access to the district's standardized norm referenced test materials except during regular, supervised test administration times.
